Isanti - Sherburne - Wright - Anoka County Minnesota Real Estate Blog: Forgiveness Facts

Forgiveness Facts

I thought this was a slightly different way of looking at forgiveness so I wanted to share it with all of you!

**Taken from Teri Werner's "Train Wreck to Triumph: course on Success University. I consider myself a forgiving person...I thought this is a good reminder just in case you are struggling in this area.

1. Forgiveness is the most selfish act you can make...it is about promoting, protecting and possessing your destiny. Forgiveness moves your life forward, turning your train wreck into triumph. It is the gift you give to yourself; the gift that keeps on giving.

2. Forgiveness is free to the forgiven. It only cost the forgiver.

3. Forgiveness is unmerited. No one deserves forgiveness, not even you.

That is why it is unmerited.

4. Forgiveness is a requirement to live a fulfilling life in the present, as well as, the future. Unforgiveness destroys. Forgiveness gives newness of life, your own.

5. Forgiveness is a law of life. It unstops the dam that prevents the continuous flow of your life, causing stagnation - keeping you in the past. It is the very essence of moving you forward . . . getting you back into the flow of life.

**

I hope that helped someone!  I know there is a lot of unforgiveness in this world.  Wouldn't it be nice to just let some things go.  If you need to forgive someone it can set you FREE!  Perhaps unforgiveness is stopping the flow in your life.  I don't know about you, but I want to live a fulfilling life and I want to help others do that same.  We are all equally deserving so send out some FORGIVENESS TODAY!

Chuck, those are great points you've made.  Many don't understand the importance of forgiveness to move on and be more productive in LIFE.  Meaningful post to me!!!

I recently forgave someone for an act that at the time hurt deeply. It was amazing how this person responded - they had no clue what to say or do. I'm not sure this person ever experienced forgiveness before... rather sad.

We also need to forgive ourselves.  I spend too much time and energy beating myself up...  let it go!!

Chuck,

This is great advice.  I have struggled with this issue with some of my family members.  At times I feel that I have forgiven, but I also have greatly limited the time I spend around them because it's not an uplifting relationship.  I wonder if I have truely forgiven them?  Any ideas?

Chuck- I used to really struggle with this, but getting into Gods word has really opened my eyes to this. My life is so much better now that I have "let some things go". Great post as usual!

Chuck, great post about forgiving.  It's a terrible burden to carry when you can't forgive.  Excess baggage.

Chuck, I think I ran across this today for a reason.  It's something all of us can relate to but we need to be reminded of it on a regular basis.  THANK YOU!
